    IBIZA BEACHES

    Ibiza is an island that's part of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, in Spain, right on the Mediterranean Sea. The archipelago is formed by two groups of islands, Ibiza takes part of the Formentera island of the group known as Las Pitiusas. Ibiza is divided in five municipalities: Ibiza, San José, San Antonio, Santa Eulalia and San Juan.

    One of the beaches in Ibiza is Talamanca, which is located within a closed bay, protected from the wind, very close to the city. It's ideal to enjoy the sun and go quietly underwater. Light sailing is very common there. There's a beautiful sea view, very similar to the beaches of Figueretas and Playa d' in Bosa, protected from the wind, any one of them offer an excellent infrastructure for the tourist.

    Some of the best Ibiza beaches are located in Santa Eulalia. The Santa Eulalia beach is in the Grand Bay of Santa Eulalia, which is one of the most gorgeous and visited ones, there's a long boardwalk where you can access the beach comfortably.

    Cala Conta, one of the most picturesque beaches of the island, is surrounded by rocks, located in the westernmost area, the water is absolutely clear, and the sundowns are paradisiac.

    WHERE TO STAY AND WHAT TO DO - HOTELS AND ACTIVITIES

    To get accommodations in Ibiza there is a great variety of vacation, rural, luxury hotels with spa, agroturism, located in the best spots of the coast, the city or the rural surroundings, there's no doubt you can enjoy the excellent services any of them provide.

    It's quite easy to get to Ibiza, by plane or water. There are national and international flights and charters. The airport is 7 km from the Ibiza City. It has two ports: The Ibiza Port and The San Antonio port, where many tourists arrive all year round. Besides, in Ibiza, all the beaches are close by, the walk along the coast, going from beach to beach throughout San Antonio Bay is a wonder and a pleasure to discover.

    The gastronomic and hotel infrastructure is ideal to rest and sunbathe, and at night enjoy the nightlife. As you know, Ibiza has a lot of gay tourism, so there are a lot of gay & lesbian hotels in the island.

    For scuba diving lovers, and for those who like tranquil beaches, with few people, there's no doubt that the Es Codolar Beach is the right one: It's open, extensive and rocky, it's right next to the Salinas lagoon, which provides unique beauty to the beach. Among the natural beaches with minimum complementary services is Es Sargo Beach, for those who seek peace and do not need extensive services. Numerous water sports can be practiced, and sunbathing is a must.

    There's about 15 important beaches in San José, all of them different from each other. One of them is Cala Jondal, which is in a bay, nestled in between capes, well protected from winds, its crystal clear waters are perfect for water sports.Ibiza offers neverending activities and sports for all tourists. The transparent waters, at a temperature of between 18º and 27ºC, are ideal for all sorts of water sports. You can enjoy diving and practicing pedal boating, sailing, banana boat riding, water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing, etc. Almost all of the big beaches rent the equipment needed to practice these sports, and there are also companies that organize tours and rent all types of boats to enjoy Ibiza to the maximum. You can also practice tennis, golf, horseback riding, cycling, etc.

    Light sailing is practiced a lot here, because there are good wind and depth conditions. It has a great infrastructure to offer the tourist all the comfort and fun. Another very attractive beach is L'Argamassa, which is very safe. Snorkling is very popular, as well as many other water sports. Niu Blau, to the south, with winds that go from the sea to the land, makes it very safe for swimming, and is enclosed by two capes, the conifers grow up to the edge, making a wonderful landscape. Playa Cala Pada is located in a small inlet, with two points covered by conifers, with shallow waters, not more than 2 meters until the 25 meters from the coast. Different types of visitors go here, because this beach offers a wide range of services, according to the needs of the touris the ones looking for tranquility and the ones who come to practice sports won't be disappointed.

    WEATHER - WHEN TO GO

    The summer season and the first beach days start in May and continue til October. The temperature in Ibiza oscillates between 25º and 35º, and the summers are hot and dry.
